- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder

- Red food coloring (optional)
- Buttercream frosting
- Heart-shaped sprinkles
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a cupcake pan with cupcake liners.
- Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy in a mixing bowl.
- Add the eggs one at a time. Mix well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt in another bowl.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the creamed mixture, alternating with the milk until well combined.
- If desired, add red food coloring until you reach your desired color.
- Fill each cupcake liner about two-thirds full with batter.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes. Check if a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow the cupcakes to cool completely before frosting.
- Frost with buttercream frosting and decorate with heart-shaped sprinkles.
