- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups chocolate chips or heart-shaped candies
- Sprinkles or icing for decorating
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Stir together flour, baking soda, and salt in a small bowl.
- Cream together the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract in a large bowl until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time. Gradually mix in the flour mixture.
- Stir in chocolate chips or heart-shaped candies.
- Drop by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheets.
- Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.
- Decorate with sprinkles or icing as desired.
Notes
Chill the dough if cookies spread too much. Adjust baking time for desired texture.
