Description

A quick and delicious homemade stir fry sauce that you can customize to your taste.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tsp toasted sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tbsp water (for cornstarch)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your ingredients by chopping vegetables and proteins of choice.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and brown sugar until well combined.
  3. In a separate small bowl, dissolve cornstarch in water; then add to the sauce mixture and mix until smooth.
  4. Taste the sauce and adjust flavors as desired by adding more brown sugar for sweetness or red pepper flakes for heat.
  5. Pour the sauce into a hot skillet along with your cooked proteins and vegetables; let it simmer for a few minutes until thickened.

Notes

For a thicker sauce, let it simmer a little longer. Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor. Customize it to your liking by adding different spices or sweeteners.
