Delicious sweet heart-shaped cookies perfect for Valentine’s Day, easy to make and fun to decorate.
Ingredients

- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- Food coloring (optional)
- Sprinkles (for decoration)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing well.
- In another bowl, combine the flour and baking powder. Gradually add to the creamed mixture.
- If desired, add food coloring and mix until the color is uniform.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut into heart shapes using a cookie cutter.
- Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until lightly golden.
- Let cool and decorate with sprinkles.
Notes
Use cold butter for a firmer dough and chill if too soft. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days.
