Description

Delicious sweet heart-shaped cookies perfect for Valentine’s Day, easy to make and fun to decorate.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • Sprinkles (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing well.
  4. In another bowl, combine the flour and baking powder. Gradually add to the creamed mixture.
  5. If desired, add food coloring and mix until the color is uniform.
  6. Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut into heart shapes using a cookie cutter.
  7. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes until lightly golden.
  9. Let cool and decorate with sprinkles.

Notes

Use cold butter for a firmer dough and chill if too soft. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days.
