These heart shaped chocolate chip cookies are simple, fun to make, and perfect for parties or gifts.

- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- Optional: sprinkles for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs and vanilla extract until well combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness. Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out cookies.
- Place the cookies on baking sheets lined with parchment paper.
- Optional: sprinkle with decorations.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Allow to cool on the baking sheets before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Store at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 5 days. To keep them soft, place a slice of bread in the container for one day. For longer storage, freeze the cookies in a sealed freezer bag for up to 3 months. Thaw at room temperature.
