Quick and delicious cinnamon rolls made with sourdough discard for a rich flavor and perfect texture.
Ingredients

- 1 cup sourdough discard
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup brown sugar (for filling)
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for icing)
Instructions
- Mix the wet ingredients (sourdough discard, milk, sugar, melted butter, and egg) until smooth.
- In another bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt).
- Combine both mixtures to form a soft dough—don’t overmix!
- Roll out the dough, spread with butter, and sprinkle on the cinnamon and brown sugar filling.
- Roll it up tightly, slice, and place in a greased pan.
- Bake at 375°F (190°C) for about 20 minutes or until golden.
- Whip up the icing with powdered sugar and milk while they cool—then drizzle it on!
Notes
For extra flavor, add nuts or chocolate to the filling. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
